Australian native Boyd Martin, 31, relocated to the United States in 2007 to pursue his dreams of international eventing competition. He and his wife Silva, a Grand Prix dressage rider who is originally from Germany and now rides for the USA, operate Windurra USA out of Phillip Dutton's True Prospect Farm. Now riding for the United States, Boyd, who has dual citizenship, was the top-finishing American individual and a member of the 4th-placed US Eventing Team at the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky.
ABOUT SILVA MARTIN
Silva has trained and shown with Olympian Oded Shimoni, and 2009 USEF Lifetime Achievement Award winner Jessica Ransehousen. She presently trains with Olympian Michael Barisone. In addition to her dressage students Silva’s expertise has attracted the attention of the eventing crowd, including world-class competitors Phillip Dutton and Jan Byyny. She has a solid education in dressage training, and is happy to impart her knowledge to her students and their horses.
Boyd: BN, N, T, P (Some competition experience required)
Saturday/Sunday: 1 ½ hrs. each day, 1st day flat/stadium, 2nd day X-C (ditch, steps, water complex, trakaner, sunken road, assorted portables) 5 riders per group.
Monday: Stadium/limited X-C (water complex, portables), 4 riders per group, 1½ hrs.
Silva: Monday: Dressage, private sessions, non-eventers welcome!
Off-site stabling can be arranged.
Lunch with Boyd and SilvaRiders will join Boyd and Silva at Fitch's Corner Main House in the gardens for a home cooked gourmet lunch under the trees. Chat with Boyd or Silva about your horse or the world of high level competitions. Let Sunny Cross know how many are in your group so there is no last minute panic in the kitchen. The luncheon is complimentary and is included in the fee.
