July 22-24, 2011
Details coming soon!
Fitch's Corner will be the site of the 2011 USEA Area 1 Regional Championships as the highlight of the Fitch's Corner Weekend. New this year, the Area 1 Council has decided to have the four championships - Beginner Novice, Novice, Training and Preliminary - at one facility bringing additional excitement and visibility to this prestigious competition. Fitch's Corner is planning many enhancements to give the championships a mini-Rolex Kentucky experience to the competitors.
The dressage field has been re-graded and re-seeded to provide a superior terrain for the five dressage arenas.
FEI course designer Derek di Grazia will enhance the cross country courses with some new jumps built by Eric Bull and new changes in the track. His approach to a championship course is not to make it more difficult rather to make it the best it can be for each level.
The stadium courses will be ridden in front of guests attending the benefit luncheon and the many spectators in the Stadium Arena centrally located by Fitch's Market and the new Fitch's Food Court. Designer Chris Bernard will have new sponsor fences to integrate into his course design.
Winners will receive many prizes in addition to the Tiffany & Co. silver trophies thanks to sponsors who will be providing awards and products.
To celebrate the qualified riders there will be a "Meet the Champions" reception on Friday, July 22. Joining the riders will be celebrity bartenders to welcome and serve party goers. On Saturday night there will be the popular Blue Jean Ball for all competitors and friends.
